Flooding: A vision of localised flooding in some towns was seen; low lying areas will be flooded again as in 2021. During high season on the eastern shore of South Africa, anglers and people on beaches will have to be careful because of seas and waves that are higher than normal. Floods will occur unexpectedly during seasons when there is usually little or no rainfall. Farmers and homeowners are warned to take out extra insurance to cover themselves in these particular areas. In terms of the climate, extra expense will be incurred because of geological changes, and people should take extra insurance to cover themselves against these unforeseen expenses.

Imported perishable food containers need to be re-routed to inland cold storage facilities, as KwaZulu-Natal facilities have been severely impacted by the recent unrest.
This is according to the South African Meat Processors Association (SAMPA) and the South African Association of Meat Importers and Exporters (AMIE SA).null
In a statement, the associations said that this is critical if South Africa wants to avoid chronic food shortages across the country, specifically for the poorest who rely on affordable chicken and meat products such as polony, as their primary sources of protein.
They said there are currently 290 reefer containers (temperature controlled containers) which require an urgent cold storage remedy, with many more containers en route from international markets to offload at the port of Durban.

with AFPLast updated: 09/02/2021
Drinkers in South Africa may cheer the government’s decision to lift the latest bar on alcohol sales, but the wine sector fears the move has come too late to save thousands of jobs.https://64be3dfe3defb25bc68f40f4737c71e3.safeframe.googlesyndication.com/safeframe/1-0-38/html/container.html?n=0
The key industry has been badly hit by a string of booze bans, imposed to ease the number of trauma cases in hospitals burdened by coronavirus patients.
The third such restriction, imposed on December 28 as South Africa struggled with a second Covid wave, was lifted on Monday.
But the announcement will do little to raise morale.
” Wine businesses have not been able to earn any income from local wine sales for a total of 20 weeks since March 2020 ,” said Rico Basson, head of Vin Pro, representing 2,500 producers and other stakeholders in the wine industry.
The sector has now lost more than eight billion rand ($530 million / 440 million euros) in direct sales, threatening the livelihoods of 27,000 people, he said in a statement.
” While we are glad that businesses can once again earn much-needed revenue, a long and difficult road to recovery lies ahead for wine-related businesses ,” he said.
” It is even too late for some businesses .”
As the prophets gathered in July 2020 the Lord gave us this warning concerning domestic violence in 2021.
16 Days of Activism again, yet statistics are on a rapid rise
Compiled by Bonolo Sekudu
- This year’s theme for the 16-day campaign is “moving from awareness to accountability.”
- In the last quarter, 897 women and 287 children were murdered, compared to 218 in the same quarter the previous year.
- Policymakers are pressured to ensure accountability and implementation of the National Council on GBVF (Gender-based violence and femicide) to prevent lip service.
Listening to the 16 days of activism for no violence against women and children campaign rhetoric can be frustrating, especially as year on year there is no real change in how women and children are treated in this country.
Days ago, the ministry of police released horrendous crime statistics in the last quarter 897 women were murdered, 64 more than in the same quarter from the previous year – an increase of 7.7%. And 287 children were murdered, compared to 218 in the same quarter last year, an increase of 31.7%.
