NEWS 24: 4 December 2015: Almost 80 boys rescued from illegal initiation schools across Gauteng:
Johannesburg – Almost 80 boys from the age of 10 upwards have been rescued from illegal initiation schools across Gauteng (in November and December), the co-operative governance and traditional affairs department said on Friday.

Since Monday, November 30, a total of 59 initiates aged between 10 and 23 have been rescued from illegal initiation schools in Orange Farm, Sebokeng and Fochville, department spokesperson Motsamai Motlhaolwa said.

NEWS 24: 8 INITIATES DIE FROM BOTCHED CIRCUMCISIONS IN EASTERN CAPE:

East London – Eight initiates have died from botched circumcisions in the first week of this season in the Eastern Cape, the province’s health department (ECHD) confirmed to News24.

ECHD circumcision senior manager Dr Luvuyo Bayeni said they expect more deaths this season. He said two of these deaths occurred earlier on Friday morning. The majority of these were in the Chris Hani District Municipality.
